I, your host Alundas Havens, will be sharing a 9-step process that I have personally worked through during my own current challenges. Right now, I am going through a tough time, but instead of complaining or giving in, I am determined to show up for myself and be the best version of me.
The steps we will discuss include accepting and acknowledging your situation, cultivating a mindset that will help you overcome, developing coping mechanisms, embracing change, creating a supportive environment, prioritizing self-care, finding meaning and purpose, maintaining hope and optimism, and finally, learning from the experience.
I wanted to share this process with you because it's something I'm actively going through myself. Recently, my wife underwent surgery, and initially, I downplayed its impact on me. But I realized that in order to be there for others who rely on me, I need to take care of myself and face this challenge head-on. Along the way, I've been navigating my own thoughts and emotions, resisting the temptation to escape through substances or distractions.
